Australian Sports Commission Media Awards 2009
The Australian Sports Commission Media Awards — now in its eighth year — celebrates analytical and insightful presentation of sport and sporting issues by journalists, broadcasters and photographers.
The Awards are unique in the recognition of journalistic excellence in Australia, having multiple sport related categories and being the only dedicated sports media awards in Australia that allow different media to compete on their relative merits.
In 2009, the Awards categories are:
- Lifetime Achievement Award for Contribution to Sports Journalism
- Best Reporting of an Issue in Australian Sport
- Best Contribution to the Coverage of Sport - by an organisation
- Best Contribution to the Coverage of Sport - by an individual
- Best Profiling of an Athlete, Team or Coach - broadcast media
- Best Profiling of an Athlete, Team or Coach - print media
- Best Sports Journalism from Rural, Regional or Suburban Media
- Best Journalism on Community Sport
- Best Sports Photography
- Best Sports Journalism by a Student

This year the ASC Media Awards presentation gala dinner will be at Crown Casino (Southbank, Melbourne) on Thursday 3 December 2009.
